Description

We are seeking a Graphic Designer/Illustrator Volunteer who will mainly work on book cover designs for publishing in both print and digital format.  This role involves editing existing Photoshop (PSD) book cover files and work in Adobe Illustrator/Adobe InDesign and put them in the InDesign cover template generated by the printer to be used for ePub (RGB) and Print files (CMYK). This role may also involve adding translated text in the book covers for the other language versions of the respective books. Review and ensure the final design is ready for publication. 

Responsibilities

• Work closely with Harvey Mandin (Book Publication Coordinator) to understand the vision and requirements for each book cover; incorporate feedback effectively.
• Work with existing book cover PSD files and generate print (PDF file) and digital (JPEG file) ready file for printing.
• Add and replace language cover translations of the respective book.
• Carefully examine the existing Illustrator files for each book cover.
• May include in the future as well:       If the person is a skillful graphic designer or illustrator, they can also either attempt to design or oversee the design and layout of new book covers.
