Description

We are seeking detail-oriented Volunteers to assist in the digital preservation and translation of Rinpoche’s teachings. This role is perfect for someone who is comfortable with basic computer tasks and interested in how cutting-edge AI technology can be used to spread the Dharma. You will bridge the gap between sacred texts and modern translation tools, ensuring our professional translators have a solid foundation to work from.

Responsibilities

Your primary focus will be managing the technical workflow of “pre-translation” using our specialized AI tools.

Text Processing: Copying and pasting specific sections from Rinpoche’s books into our AI translation interface.
Document Management: Organizing and placing the AI-generated translations back into the primary book documents for review.
Workflow Integration: Preparing the “raw” translated text so that our professional translation team can easily review and edit the nuances.
AI Training & Refinement: Once a book is fully translated and edited, you will run the final version through the AI to help the system “learn” Rinpoche’s unique syntax and specialized vocabulary.
Glossary Development: Assisting in the extraction of key terms to build an AI-driven Dharma glossary for future consistency.

Skills & Qualifications

General Computer Skills

Proficiency in "copy-paste" workflows, navigating multiple browser tabs, and managing Word or Google documents.
Attention to detail; ability to ensure that no paragraphs are missed and that the formatting remains consistent.
Good organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines; diligence; able to work through obstacles and challenges.
Excellent written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and collaborate with the review team, staff members and/or volunteers to fully support the project.
Flexibility and patience to adapt to changing requirements.
Openness to learn new technical skills and procedures; willingness to follow given standards, guidelines.
Technical: Ability to use Google Workspace, Drive, Docs (text editing/formatting functions) and Slack.
