About This Initiative

Khentrul Rinpoche is dedicated to harnessing modern technology to bring timeless wisdom into the lives of people across the globe. Just as the Dharma once spread through oral transmission, handwritten manuscripts, and later print and broadcast media, it must now find an authentic and skillful expression through digital platforms, immersive technology, and Artificial Intelligence.

Under the direct guidance of Khentrul Rinpoche, Dzokden has established an innovative AI Dharma Program—a pioneering initiative that integrates emerging technologies with authentic lineage wisdom. This ensures that the rare teachings of the Jonang Kalachakra tradition and higher yogas can reach practitioners across cultures, languages, and generations. This work brings together modern technology with authentic lineage wisdom. In areas where maintaining the integrity of the teachings is especially important—such as AI chatbots and Dharma-based tools—Khentrul Rinpoche offers guidance and feedback on their development, as appropriate. This helps ensure that these systems remain aligned with the lineage and support accurate understanding in a way that genuinely benefits practitioners.

By bringing the science of AI into the service of the Dharma, we are pioneering a spiritual tradition for the digital age.  With over 50% of people under 30 bypassing traditional search engines for AI-driven platforms, the way the Dharma is consumed is fundamentally changing.  This work meets the urgent challenge of reaching younger generations to ensure that future generations encounter the teachings with accuracy and depth, fostering a global culture of connection, inclusion, and peace.

Technology is not a separate initiative within Dzokden—it is woven into everything we do. From our global learning center, mobile applications, and websites for Dharma centers, to volunteer coordination systems, translation pipelines, and community infrastructure—technology is the backbone that supports our worldwide sangha. As we continue to grow, we will not rely less on technology, but increasingly more, in order to serve a global community across many languages, cultures, and time zones.

A Mandala of Digital Innovation

Nothing replaces the times of human teaching and interaction. But we must deal with the reality that our global community is spread out throughout the world. In order to ensure that we can reach everyone, everywhere in our community we need technology infrastructure. To bring this vision to life, Dzokden is developing a holistic mandala of digital tools, immersive experiences, and open-source resources:

AI chatbot Dharma Archive
We are reimagining how Dharma is accessed and experienced. Dzokden is building a dynamic archive of Rinpoche’s teachings—integrating video, audio, and written content into a conversational, interactive format. Through AI-powered interfaces, practitioners will be able to engage with the teachings in a more intuitive and accessible way. This includes the development of a Dharma AI companion—a tool designed to support practitioners in their own language, helping them navigate the conceptual stages of practice while maintaining alignment with authentic teachings. Great care is being taken to ensure high accuracy and minimal hallucination, preserving the integrity of the lineage.

Practice-Specific AI Support
Specialized AI tools are being developed to provide real-time, personalized guidance for Kalachakra practices. While these tools do not replace direct transmission or pith instructions from a qualified Lama, they serve as supportive companions, helping practitioners understand and engage with the teachings at their level.

AI Audiobooks & Voice Transmission
Either augmenting our own students voice read books, we are developing AI-generated audiobooks and teachings in multiple languages. This allows practitioners around the world to experience a more direct and personal connection to the teacher, regardless of geographic or linguistic barriers.

Immersive & Experiential Technologies
Dzokden is exploring the use of cutting-edge media to bring the Kalachakra mandala and teachings into direct experience:

• AI-Generated Sacred Art & Global Art Tours
  Creating and sharing sacred imagery inspired by the Kalachakra tradition for modern audiences.
• Holographic Kalachakra Mandala Installations
  Presenting the mandala in luminous, three-dimensional form to deepen experiential understanding.
• Virtual Reality (VR) Mandala Environments
  Allowing practitioners to enter and explore the mandala as a meditative and educational space.
• Interactive Learning Platforms
  Integrating immersive tools into Dzokden’s learning center to support deeper engagement and understanding.Open-Source Dharma Infrastructure

In a spirit of inclusivity, Dzokden is committed to making some of these tools open-source. This allows other Buddhist traditions to adapt and apply these frameworks within their own lineages—expanding benefit across the global Sangha.
