About this Program

The Enlightened Activities Program (EAP) is Dzokden’s unique approach to volunteering, designed to turn skills and daily efforts into a profound spiritual practice.  By offering your time and energy to Khentrul Rinpoche’s mission, you cultivate the humility, devotion, and receptive mind essential for the Kalachakra path. Dzokden is a global organization built almost entirely through the dedication of volunteers. Our Enlightened Activities Program (EAP) is the operational heart that makes Khentrul Rinpoche’s vision possible. Spanning over 150 countries, Dzokden’s activities—from teachings and retreats to translations, digital platforms, and global initiatives—are supported and coordinated by individuals who offer their time, skills, and expertise in service of the Dharma.

This program is not only about volunteering—it is about learning how to transform everyday skills into enlightened activity. Whether in administration, legal support, project management, communications, or operations, every contribution becomes part of a larger effort to bring authentic wisdom into the modern world. Through this, practitioners deepen their connection to the Guru, the teachings, and the global sangha while helping build something far greater than themselves. Through the EAP, every task—whether mundane tasks or highly specialized—is transformed into the extraordinary by your intention to benefit others and accumulate vast merit necessary for global transformation and personal enlightenment.  

Our Aspiration

Our aspiration is to create a sustainable, global infrastructure that allows the Dharma to flourish in a modern context. We are not a large, well-funded institution with extensive resources. Instead, we are a growing, mission-driven community—relying on individuals who are willing to contribute their skills with purpose, care, and vision. Through the Enlightened Activities Program, we aim to:

• Build a strong operational foundation to support Rinpoche’s global activities
• Develop skilled teams that can manage complex international projects with clarity and integrity
• Create systems that allow the Dharma to be accessible, organized, and scalable
• Support practitioners in transforming their work into a path of service and realization

At a deeper level, this work is directly connected to the path of awakening itself. In the Buddhist path, realization depends on the two accumulations: merit and wisdom. Without sufficient merit, it is extremely difficult for the teachings to truly take root in one’s experience. In the Vajrayana, one of the most powerful ways to accumulate merit is through offering service to the Guru and the lineage.

In a traditional context, this might take place in a monastery or close physical relationship. But in today’s global world, the question becomes: how can practitioners meaningfully engage in this kind of service across countries, languages, and cultures? The Enlightened Activities Program is one answer to that question. By contributing one’s skills—whether in administration, organization, translation, or leadership—practitioners have a direct opportunity to support the Guru’s activities on a global scale. In doing so, they not only help bring the Dharma to others, but also create the conditions for their own realization to arise. This transforms ordinary work into a profound path of accumulation, connection, and purpose. Through this collective effort, we are not only supporting an organization—we are creating the causes and conditions for the Dharma to flourish, for practitioners to progress on the path, and for a more compassionate and awakened world to emerge.
