About this Program
Dzokden Kalachakra Yoga is a unique training system inspired by the Kalachakra Tantra, designed to prepare the body, energy, and mind for deep meditation and the tantric path—without revealing any of its secret practices. This is not ordinary yoga. It is a complete method of transformation that works with posture, breath, movement, and awareness to align the body’s subtle architecture and support sitting meditation in the vajra posture. Rooted in authentic lineage transmission, this system trains the channels, winds, and awareness simultaneously—creating the conditions necessary for deeper realization. At the same time, it remains fully accessible. Anyone can practice this yoga—regardless of background, belief, or spiritual commitment. Even those who never enter the Kalachakra path can benefit from its profound effects on health, balance, and inner clarity.
Our Vision for the Program
We are developing:
- A global yoga curriculum accessible to all levels grounded in Traditional Tibetan yogic practices
- A Yoga Alliance-certified teacher training pathway
- Integration into mainstream yoga studios worldwide
- A method that quietly carries the blessing and structure of Kalachakra into everyday life
This is a bridge—bringing authentic Tibetan yogic science into the modern world in a form people can actually practice.
Our Aspiration
Our aspiration is to make the benefits of Kalachakra Yoga available as widely as possible in a way that is authentic, skillful, and appropriate for different levels of practitioners. Within the Kalachakra tradition, there are two distinct but related systems of yogic practice:
1. The Six Vajra Yogas (Completion Stage Practices)
The Jonang lineage preserves the Six Vajra Yogas of Kalachakra, which are advanced completion stage practices. These methods work directly with the subtle body and are considered secret practices within Vajrayana. These practices represent a direct path to realization, and their integrity depends on careful transmission, guidance, and readiness. They are not publicly taught and can only be entered through:
- Receiving the appropriate empowerments
- Following a qualified Vajra Master (Guru)
- Proper preparation through preliminary practices and stable view
2. Dzokden Kalachakra Yoga (Open Preparatory System)
Alongside this, Dzokden is developing an accessible system of Kalachakra Yoga that is open to everyone. This system does not reveal or replace the completion stage practices, but instead serves as a preparatory foundation that:
- Trains posture, breath, and movement
- Supports seated meditation, including vajra posture
- Cultivates the body as a basis for deeper practice
- Helps restore flexibility, strength, and balance
- Creates a positive karmic connection to the Kalachakra path
This approach benefits:
- Anyone in the world, regardless of spiritual background
- Practitioners preparing for deeper stages of Vajrayana
Restoring the Role of the Body in the Path
In the Tibetan Vajrayana system, yogic methods such as posture and pranayama do exist, but are traditionally introduced at advanced stages. As a result, many practitioners begin working with the body only later in life. Today, many enter the Dharma as adults, often without the physical conditioning that supports advanced meditation and yogic practice. This can create obstacles when engaging more demanding practices such as the Vajra Yogas. Dzokden Kalachakra Yoga helps restore this foundation earlier—without exposing restricted teachings—so that practitioners can gradually prepare the body, breath, and awareness in a skillful way.
A Bridge Between Worlds
This program serves two essential functions:
- A gateway — allowing new people to encounter the Kalachakra tradition through embodied practice
- A support structure — helping committed practitioners prepare for deeper stages of the path
In this way, it creates a bridge between:
- Modern practitioners and traditional systems
- Accessible practice and advanced realization
The Impact We Hope to Create
This project is not only about yoga—it is about shaping the conditions for a Golden Age. Kalachakra teaches that transformation begins from within. By cultivating balance in the body, energy, and mind, practitioners naturally begin to bring harmony into their lives and environment. Through this program, we aim to:
- Reach people far beyond traditional Dharma circles
- Introduce authentic inner transformation into mainstream culture
- Support meditation through proper physical and energetic preparation
- Create a global network of trained teachers carrying this method forward
- Plant karmic seeds that connect beings to the Kalachakra lineage
If even a small part of this practice spreads widely, its impact can be vast. Because when individuals become more balanced, aware, and integrated—
they naturally bring that balance into the world. And this is how a Golden Age begins: not from the outside, but from within each person, connected with Bodhicitta and the golden age spiration.
