The most excellent leader of the Jonang Lineage, the Abbott of Dzamthang Monastery, His Holiness Jigme Dorje Rinpoche chose to pass into parinirvana on the auspicious day of Kalachakra New Year. Khentrul Rinpoche will lead us in prayers for this most precious teacher and holy being this weekend. May we have the merit for his swift return and to fulfill his aspirations.

In celebration of Khentrul Rinpoche’s 60th birthday, a special year that brings the completion of all the signs and elements in a zodiac cycle, Rinpoche will give a teaching on birthdays and how to approach them. This is one of the most important birthdays in our zodiac cycle because it is when we revisit the sign and element from when we were born. Often times people associate this revisit to the natal sign as an obstacle year. In order to help prevent that we have already
1) made a long-life offering to Khentrul Rinpoche
2) Medicine Buddha and Marichi Mantra Accumulation
3) Built a Medicine Buddha Mandala and had 9 statues (7 Medicine Buddhas and 2 Taras) made for the Garden which will arrive in time for his birthday
Normally people become self-focused on their birthday. Rinpoche will give a teaching on how we can instead approach this day from a Buddhist perspective. In addition to this, he will bestow prosperity and long-life blessing on everyone.
In honor of Rinpoche’s 60th birthday, the community will recite long-life prayers to him and make offerings prepared by the different sanghas.
Join us for a transformative empowerment. During this extraordinary week-long retreat, participants will connect with the essence of Shakyamuni Buddha through the study and practice of the 1000 Buddha empowerment (wang), puja, and sadhana. This is a rare opportunity, as it marks the first time Khentrul Rinpoche has offered this empowerment in such an auspicious location.
The Thousand Buddha Empowerment is rooted in the Nyingma Lineage, tracing back to King Songtsen Gampo, an emanation of Avalokiteshvara. Khentrul Rinpoche received this empowerment as a young child and recently renewed it through a personal transmission from H.E. Kathok Rigzin Chenpo. The main deity of this empowerment is Avalokiteshvara, representing the compassion, names, and mantras of 2200 Buddhas.
Connecting to the power of each of the 1000 Buddhas enhances your spiritual practice by linking you to all the Buddhas of this fortunate eon. Through this connection, we work towards realizing a Golden Age of Peace and Harmony.
Rinpoche has requested monks in different traditions bestow oral transmissions but as we are in India and everything is unreliable here please note the sessions that say “Potential” on the schedule

11:30 AM – 1:30 PM – We are dedicating the merit at the Maha-bodhi stupa for the donors and everyone with prayers of Shambhala, Dzokden and the Golden Age. This will not be a live streamed session.
HOW THE ONLINE EMPOWERMENT WILL WORK
1) Register each attendee that will be receiving the empowerment. Choose your preferred language. You will receive a confirmation email. After that, you will be added to our online learning center at learn.dzokden.org.
2) Before the empowerment, you will receive information on some simple supplies you should get to help make the experience as authentic as possible. If you are not able to get them all don’t worry. They are symbolic and you can still receive the empowerment. More important you must understand what is happening. Just attending empowerment does not mean you receive it. You must know what is going on. To ensure everyone will receive empowerment, Rinpoche will kindly make his instruction booklet available to you as an eBook so you can follow along so you know exactly what is happening. You are not allowed to share this program book with anyone else or give them access to the empowerment. This is private for your personal use. Rinpoche typically gives the eBook out the night before but if this is a technical problem for you (you can’t read an eBook and be on zoom at the same time) please indicate on the registration form so we can work to accommodate you.
3) You will receive access to zoom for each of the sessions. While Khentrul Rinpoche wants the attendees there for every session, we have indicated the absolute required sessions so as not to have to a lot of emails about special circumstances. That said, he would prefer you are there for all of them

Pentru a sărbători aniversarea predării Kalachakra de către Buddha Shakyamuni sub forma Zeității Kalachakra la Stupa Amaravati din India, vom avea parte de învățături și vom recita rugăciunile lui Dolpopa despre Kalachakra.
În vremurile moderne, mulți oameni preferă să fie spirituali, dar nu și religioși. Această preferință apare din dorința de a ne conecta cu esența adevăratei noastre naturi, care este dincolo de limitările oricărei religii. Este exact ceea ce învață ne Tantra Kalachakra. Rinpoche va oferi învățături despre motivul pentru care Tantra Kalachakra este o practică Rimé care include toate tradițiile spirituale ale lumii. Chiar și în Tărâmul Shambhala, când măreții Bodhisattva au realizat învățăturile Tantrei Kalachakra, ei proveneau din tradiții de înțelepciune diferite.
