Support the Global Shambhala Art Tour

Celebrating 1,000 Years of Kalachakra in Tibet & the Enthronement of a New Kalki King

Create the Proper Forms for Practice
Sponsor the Creation of Holy Objects

In 2027, the world will mark 1,000 years since the Kalachakra Tantra entered Tibet, a sacred milestone in the Shambhala tradition. This historic era is also associated with the enthronement of a new Kalki King, symbolizing enlightened leadership and the renewal of wisdom in the world.

To honor this moment, Dzokden is commissioning seven essential sacred paintings that will become the heart of the Global Shambhala Art Tour—a major offering inviting people around the world to encounter the living vision, symbolism, and deeper meaning of the Shambhala teachings, the Kalachakra Tantra, and the manifestation of a Golden Age.

Art is a universal language. These paintings carry enlightened transmission and profound symbolic meaning that practitioners intuitively recognize as reflections of their own awakened potential. For this reason, each work must be created exactly according to Khentrul Rinpoche’s instructions, ensuring complete accuracy in lineage form.

To complete all seven paintings, we must raise $20,000, covering design, drawing, painting, framing, scanning, and preparation for international exhibition.

Supporting the creation of sacred objects establishes powerful karmic causes and conditions for the swift arising of the Golden Age.

Current Commissions Needed
Vishvamata Thangka I & II

Vishvamata, the Universal Mother and consort of Kalachakra, embodies prajñā—the wisdom principle. As the gateway to the Yoginis and the inner dimension of the mandala, her form is essential for correct Kalachakra practice.

Two unique paintings are required, each emphasizing a different facet of her enlightened qualities. These works were commissioned by Rinpoche to a traditional thangka school in Tibet (modern-day China).

Vajravega
Vajravega is the wrathful Vajra Protector, the fierce and compassionate form of Shri Kalachakra. As the ultimate Dharma protector, his power cuts through ignorance at its root.

A correct depiction of Vajravega is vital for practitioners who rely on his protection and stability on the path. This painting took nearly a year to complete and cost approximately $12,000 USD. It was painted by the master painter at Tashi Chöthang Monastery, the root monastery of Lama Lobsang Trinley. The artist has generously donated the proceeds from this work to the Saka Dawa celebrations commemorating Lama Lobsang Trinley’s parinirvana.

Mahāsamvara Mandala
This intricate mandala contains a profound assembly of enlightened beings within the Kalachakra system. Meditating upon these deities is said to bring practitioners toward realization.

A precise rendering of this mandala serves as a powerful presence in temples, centers, and community spaces. This painting has been commissioned from a long-established family of traditional painters in Nepal.

Shambhala War & Enlightened Activities
This work portrays the symbolic war of wisdom against ignorance. Rather than depicting worldly conflict, it expresses the transformative enlightened activity of the Shambhala teachings.

This painting will serve as a key narrative anchor within the Global Shambhala Art Tour.

Garuda
Garuda is a powerful wisdom deity who protects the Buddha families, transmutes poison into nectar, and transforms ignorance and desire into wisdom. His form plays an essential protective and healing role within the collection.

Shambhala Solar System
A rare cosmological depiction of Shambhala, updated according to Khentrul Rinpoche’s instructions. This painting illustrates the structure of Shambhala beyond historical depictions and helps practitioners understand the broader vision of the realm and its enlightened society.

The Process
Each painting requires months of careful collaboration, including research, dialogue with Rinpoche, detailed drawing, and high-precision painting by artists trained in authentic lineages.

These are not decorative artworks.
They are spiritual tools—lineage-accurate supports that will shape the transmission of the Kalachakra and Shambhala teachings for generations to come.

Your contribution directly brings these sacred forms into the world.
