Description

We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic volunteer Video Editor to help us enhance the impact of Khentrul Rinpoche’s teachings by skillfully editing video recordings for our YouTube channel.

Responsibilities

Edit raw video footage into engaging and coherent videos for YouTube including:
- Trimming and cutting footage to remove errors, pauses, and unnecessary content.
- Arranging and sequencing video clips to create a smooth and logical flow.
- Adding introductory and outro sequences, including the Dzokden logo and branding elements.
- Incorporating lower thirds for speaker identification and key terms.
- Adjusting audio levels for clarity and consistency.
- Potentially adding background music (when appropriate and license-free).
Ensure consistent visual style and Dzokden branding across all videos.
Offer creative suggestions to enhance the visual appeal and engagement of the videos.

Skills & Qualifications

Audio and Visual
Video Editing

Proficiency in video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or comparable free/open-source options).
A keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of visual storytelling.
Reliable access to a computer with the necessary software and internet connection.
Previous experience editing videos for online platforms, particularly educational or spiritual content, is a plus.
Familiarity with basic video and audio codecs and YouTube best practices for video optimization (resolution, aspect ratio, etc.) is beneficial.
Able to work independently with good organizational and time management skills, diligence, attention to detail to ensure accuracy and quality.
Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
Cooperative, reliable and ability to persevere when faced with obstacles.
Ability to collaborate with other volunteers and team members to fully support the project; ability to work in a team is essential.
Openness to learn new technical skills and procedures; willingness to follow given standards, guidelines.
Able to transfer knowledge to future volunteers.
