Online or In-Person: Innate Kalachakra Practice Retreat
Space is limited for attending in-person. Please apply early. Online spaces are not limited.
ABOUT THE RETREAT
People are always chasing the idea of self or getting to know the self but can not recognize the innate true nature that is already present. This practice closes the gap more between who we think we are and who we really are. Our goal is to shift our sense of identity from the illusory self that is projected by ignorance, to a conceptual self that arises from wisdom, therefore bringing us closer to our Buddha-nature.
This retreat is an opportunity to strengthen awareness and cultivate confidence in our own inherent divine nature through the authentic lineage of Tibetan Buddhism of the Jonangpas. There are several skillful means you will have a chance to work with within the Kalachakra Sadhanas, Kalachakra-Tsok, Guru-Puja and ordinary activities, in order to unveil the Innate Kalachakra.
For those who have just received the Kalachakra Empowerment or are working on their Ngöndro, this is an ideal opportunity to learn how to put it into practice and to expand enormously the accumulation of merit and wisdom. For those who have been practicing it previously, it is a precious opportunity to realize the power of practicing together with our vajra brothers and sisters.
Khentrul Rinpoche will teach remotely from Australia. Practice sessions will be lead by Senior Students at the Kalapa Retreat Center and will be streamed live as well.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS
Familiarize your mind with Innate Kalachakra to strengthen your connection to your Buddha-nature in the supportive environment of sangha for the benefit of all beings.
RECORDINGS
All sessions will be recorded and can be accessed afterwards in our online learning center. We encourage you to take part in as many live sessions as possible, but, if your time zone is not compatible, you can listen to them later.
HOW TO PREPARE MYSELF FOR THIS RETREAT
If you are new to the teachings of Shar Khentrul Rinpoche or to the Jonang School of Tibetan Buddhism, we encourage you, if possible, to read Rinpoche’s Book on the Kalachakra Practice “The Hidden Treasure of the Profound Path” or some of his “Unveiling Your Sacred Truth” series. In our learning center it is also possible to take part in the Kalachakra Ngöndro Course, which can help you familiarize yourself with the lineage and with Rinpoche’s extraordinary approach to the Preliminary Practices.
“The Profound Path of Vajra Yoga” is recommended as a support for your practice during the retreat.

Khentrul RinpocheNon-Sectarian Master of Kalachakra
Khentrul Rinpoché Jamphel Lodrö is the founder and spiritual director of Dzokden. Rinpoche is the author of Unveiling Your Sacred Truth, The Great Middle Way: Clarifying the Jonang View of Other-Emptiness, A Happier Life, and The Hidden Treasure of the Profound Path.
Rinpoche spent the first 20 years of his life herding yak and chanting mantras on the plateaus of Tibet. Inspired by the bodhisattvas, he left his family to study in a variety of monasteries under the guidance of over twenty-five masters in all the Tibetan Buddhist traditions. Due to his non-sectarian approach, he earned himself the title of Rimé (unbiased) Master and was identified as the reincarnation of the famous Kalachakra Master Ngawang Chözin Gyatso. While at the core of his teachings is the recognition that there is great value in the diversity of all spiritual traditions found in this world; he focuses on the Jonang-Shambhala tradition. Kalachakra (wheel of time) teachings contain profound methods to harmonize our external environment with the inner world of body and mind, ultimately bringing about the golden age of peace and harmony (dzokden).
