Dzokden Children's Program

Educating the Future Generation of Dharma Practitioners

About this Program

The Dzokden Children’s Program is a collection of initiatives dedicated to creating a natural bridge for youth to experience the Dharma and enter the path of Kalachakra.   These efforts are designed to make the teachings of Khentrul Rinpoche accessible and joyful, allowing the transformative power of Kalachakra to take root naturally in young minds.  We are developing a variety of creative materials that include:

  • Support and resources specifically for parents to educate their children in the Dharma
  • Children’s story and coloring books
  • Graphic maps showing the history and growth of Buddhism over the world
  • Illustrated stories of the lives of the great Tibetan and Indian Mahasiddhas
  • Introduction to Your Buddhanature – The Zhentong View for Young Minds
  • Imaginative playthings like stuffed animal toys such as the Tibetan Snow Lion with an accompanying storybook written by Khentrul Rinpoche

Our aim is to build this bridge, ensuring that the seeds of the Golden Dharma are planted early so that our children can navigate their lives with the clarity and compassion needed for the coming Golden Age.

Our Aspirations and Why This is Important

In many modern societies, particularly in the West, there is a lack of cultural context to share the precious Dharma with children in a way that resonates with their daily lives.  We also recognize the need to rethink the skills we teach our children, as the rigid structures of the past are often ill-equipped to prepare them for the challenges of modern life.  These initiatives seek to promote greater flexibility of mind and a broader understanding of reality by helping children develop an awareness of the profound role the mind plays in their day-to-day experiences. By moving beyond a purely philosophical focus, we aim to engage the hearts and imaginations of the next generation, helping them become more adaptable and grounded in their own inner wisdom.
