Description

We are seeking a dedicated volunteer to edit translated German video content, ensuring high-quality production, and uploading the finished videos to our YouTube channel. The volunteer will need experience in using video editing software and excellent German language comprehension to create engaging video content.

Responsibilities

dit translated video content from English source material, incorporating German audio, text overlays, subtitles, cutting together video and voice-over, creating mp3 and mp4 files.
Maintain consistency with the original English video’s style and pacing while ensuring cultural appropriateness for the German audience.
Seamlessly integrate translated audio and text into the video, ensuring synchronization and accuracy. Address any discrepancies between the English and German versions.
Thoroughly review edited videos for technical quality (audio/video sync, resolution, clarity), language accuracy, and overall polish before upload.
Upload finished videos to the Dzokden German YouTube channel, including writing compelling German titles, descriptions, and tags optimized for search. Create engaging thumbnails that are visually appealing to the German audience, while maintaining the original English video’s style.
Work closely with the translation team and content creators to ensure the accuracy and cultural sensitivity of the translated content. Communicate effectively regarding project timelines and feedback.
Organize and maintain video files, project files, and other assets related to the German video content.

Skills & Qualifications

Audio and Visual
Language

Experience in video editing, preferably with experience in editing translated content.
Fluency in German (written and spoken) is essential; excellent comprehension of English.
Proficiency in basic video editing software such as Canva, DaVinci Resolve, or similar.
Strong understanding of video formats, codecs, and resolutions for YouTube; experience with creating and optimizing YouTube titles, descriptions, tags, and thumbnails.
Able to work independently with good organizational and time management skills, diligence,attention to detail to ensure accuracy and quality.
Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
Cooperative, reliable and ability to persevere when faced with obstacles.
Ability to collaborate with other volunteers and team members to fully support the project; ability to work in a team is essential.
Openness to learn new technical skills and procedures; willingness to follow given standards, guidelines.
Technical: Ability to use Google Workspace, Drive (transfer/upload large files) and Slack.
Video editing skills and software, a plus but not required.
Able to transfer knowledge to future volunteers.
