Wisdom Translated for the World

Because enlightenment should never depend on what language you speak.

Translation & Publications Program

Translation & Publications is Dzokden’s strategic initiative to make the wisdom of the Kalachakra teachings, the Jonang tradition, and Khentrul Rinpoche’s guidance accessible across languages, cultures, and formats. This work includes the translation and publication of two primary streams of material: first, Khentrul Rinpoche’s own wisdom library—his books, prayers, sadhanas, commentaries, teachings, videos, and educational materials—and second, the rare and complete systems of the Jonang-Kalachakra tradition, including pith instructions, essential writings on the Zhentong view, and works that support the Rimé, or non-sectarian, approach. This is not only a publishing effort. It is the work of helping a living lineage become available to the modern world in forms people can actually study, hear, watch, practice, and integrate.

What This Work Includes
The translation effort at Dzokden extends far beyond books alone. Our teams support:

  • Books and printed publications
  • Audiobooks
  • Prayers and sadhanas
  • Video teachings and subtitles
  • Marketing materials
  • Website content
  • Educational resources and course materials
  • Online prayer and text libraries
  • Live oral interpretation during teachings

Each year, translators and publication teams help produce well over 1000s of translations of documents are made including 300 prayers, texts, and related materials across multiple languages. This ongoing output allows practitioners around the world to receive the teachings in forms that are usable in real life—during formal practice, study, retreat, online learning, and community engagement.

A Global Translation Ecosystem

This monumental effort is powered by Dzokden’s Enlightened Activities Program and supported by a global volunteer network working in specialized language teams. Not everyone in this initiative is a translator. The work depends on many different forms of contribution, including:

  • Translation
  • Proofreading and editing
  • Language team management
  • AI-assisted pre-translation where appropriate
  • Subtitle preparation and review
  • Book layout in InDesign
  • EPUB production
  • Book cover design
  • Typesetting and text formatting
  • Library management for online prayers and texts
  • Media and publication coordination

This means someone can make a meaningful contribution to the translation effort even if they are not personally translating source texts. At the same time, Dzokden always needs more translators and proof editors. Many documents are currently translated from English into other languages, but wherever possible, it is especially valuable to have translators who can work more directly from Tibetan into their target language, preserving nuance and reducing layers of interpretation.

Languages We Currently Support
As the sangha grows, this language ecosystem continues to expand. Dzokden’s translation and publication work currently includes or is actively expanding across the following languages:

  • Tibetan
  • Sanskrit
  • English
  • Spanish
  • Portuguese
  • French
  • German
  • Italian
  • Russian
  • Chinese
  • Japanese
  • Vietnamese
  • Mongolian
  • Hindi
  • Polish
  • Korean
  • Dutch

A Living Global Library
Through this collective effort, Dzokden has already created a vast and growing body of accessible Dharma. Dozens of books have been published across more than a dozen languages, alongside hundreds of hours of teachings available online through language-specific channels. A rapidly expanding library of prayers, practices, and study materials is continuously being developed, supported by audiobooks, subtitles, and live translation that allow practitioners around the world to participate directly. Each year, this effort continues to expand through the translation of hundreds of prayers, texts, and educational materials—ensuring that the teachings are not only preserved, but actively used in daily practice, study, and retreat. This is not a static archive—it is a living, evolving body of work that continues to grow as more languages are supported, more materials are created, and more people contribute to this shared effort.

Why This Matters

To manifest a Golden Age of peace and harmony, the Dharma must be available beyond a single language or cultural setting.

Without translation, even the most profound teachings remain inaccessible to most of humanity. Translation is therefore not secondary work. It is one of the essential conditions that allows the teachings to be studied, practiced, preserved, and realized across generations and across the world.

For Dzokden, this effort is especially important because the Kalachakra and Jonang traditions contain rare systems of view and practice that have historically remained difficult to access. Through translation and publication, we help remove those barriers so that sincere practitioners can encounter authentic teachings in a language they can understand.

Our Global Reach

This language ecosystem gives Dzokden extraordinary global reach. Our current efforts include several of the world’s largest and most widely distributed languages. Chinese alone has about 1.35 billion native speakers worldwide. English functions as a global lingua franca and has broad official or practical use across dozens of countries. Spanish is spoken as a first language by about 360 million people and is an official language in more than 20 countries. French is an official language in 39 countries, and Portuguese is an official language in 10 countries. Taken together with German, Italian, Russian, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, Mongolian, Dutch, Polish, Tibetan, Sanskrit, and the rest of Dzokden’s supported languages, this work reaches communities across every inhabited continent and spans a very large share of the world’s population. Because many people are multilingual, unique population reach cannot be added together exactly, but this language network clearly makes it possible to serve the majority of the world’s population in one form or another. While not everyone in the world has the current karmic connection to find these teachings, we are preparing the seeds for the future when that time is possible to create a global golden age and enlightenment for all sentient beings in the 3 times and 10 directions.

Our Aspiration

Our aspiration is to dismantle language barriers that prevent people from encountering the values, wisdom, and transformative methods of the Kalachakra path.We want the teachings of Khentrul Rinpoche, the Kalachakra-Jonang lineage, the Zhentong view, and the Rimé approach to become available to anyone, anywhere, in forms that are clear, accurate, and alive. This means not only preserving rare teachings, but also ensuring that they can genuinely enter the lives of people today—through books, audio, video, prayer, study, and practice.

An Invitation to Contribute

We invite you to become part of this profound form of Dharma service.Whether you serve as a translator, proofreader, editor, subtitle specialist, layout designer, publisher, media coordinator, or library support volunteer, your contribution helps bring the teachings to countless beings. This is one of the most direct ways to transform professional skills into meaningful benefit. It is also a powerful way to help ensure that the wisdom of Kalachakra is not confined by language, but becomes a living resource for the world. You can also donate to the effort to improve our ability to manage translations and publish the works efficiently. While our group creatively uses as many tools we can receive nonprofit discounts for as possible and work in a co-ordinted fashion, it still requires resources to manage this process and publish the works.

Hidden Treasure of the Profound Path

This book has the complete Ngondro in a word for word commentary.

Even though hundreds of thousands of people have attended a Kalachakra empowerment, very few actually know how to put the Kalachakra teachings into practice. In this direct and clear commentary on Jetsun Taranatha’s classic text “The Divine Ladder”, Khentrul Rinpoche reveals the profound methods which have been used by Kalachakra masters for hundreds of years to achieve extraordinary realisations.

Paths of Pure Vision:The Histories, Views, and Practices of Tibet's Living Spiritual Traditions

Narrating the historical processes of Buddhism developing in India and its transmission Tibet, this book gives us a rare glimpse into the major figures, thoughts and that comprise the spiritual heritage of Tibet.

Unveiling Your Sacred Truth: The External Reality

In this first of three books, Rinpoche explores the external reality of the world that we encounter on a daily basis. Through a wealth of practical advice, he provides us with a variety of methods for working with the many ups and downs that we face. He then encourages us to probe deeper into the very nature of our experience in order to develop insight into what is truly important to us and how to make the most of the precious opportunities that this life has to offer.

Unveiling Your Sacred Truth: The Internal Reality

Sections on Bodhicitta, Purification, Merit Accumulation and Guru Yoga

Rinpoche explores the internal reality of our personal experience in a way that emphasises our fundamental nature of love and compassion. On the basis of this authentic source of refuge, Rinpoche shows us how to integrate the distinctive philosophy of Zhentong Madhyamaka in order to reveal our sacred truth in accordance with the vast teachings of the Bodhisattva Maitreya. He then provides us with the practical instructions for engaging with the Kalachakra Preliminaries.

Unveiling Your Sacred Truth: The Enlightened Reality

In this third and final volume, Rinpoche introduces the profound methods for revealing the enlightened reality of our most sacred truth. After helping us to cultivate an unwavering faith in tantra and the vajra master, Rinpoche clearly presents the theoretical and practical foundations for the uncommon preliminaries of the generation and completion stages. After the generation stage you will be well equipped to receive instruction on the sublime yogic practices of the Kalachakra 6 Vajra Yogas.
