Description

We are seeking a dedicated Volunteer to spearhead the standardization, consolidation, and enhancement of Dzokden’s translation processes across all language teams.  This role is pivotal in elevating the quality, efficiency, and accessibility of the sacred Dzokden Dharma and Kalachakra teachings worldwide, directly supporting Rinpoche’s mission to realize a new Golden Age of global peace and harmony.  This role is responsible for implementing global best practices, drawing inspiration from other successful Dharma translation centers and ensuring the collective efforts of the Dzokden’s global volunteer community are visible and celebrated.

Responsibilities

• Research, analyze, and implement industry-leading standards and translation management best practices, with a focus on models used by successful Dharma translation organizations such as Samye Translations.
• Develop, document, and disseminate a unified set of translation and review guidelines and a clear style guide for all language teams to ensure consistency, terminology accuracy, and cultural sensitivity across all translations.
• Research centralized collaborative platform (e.g., using a non-profit-friendly platform or CAT tool) to streamline document submission, assignment, tracking, and finalization.
• Establish a systematic process for peer review, editing, and final quality control for all published translations.
• Design and implement a simple system for capturing and aggregating key data points, such project completion rates, and number of published texts, across all language teams.
• Work with the communications team to regularly surface and celebrate the accomplishments of the translators and language coordinators through internal and external channels (e.g., website, newsletters, social media).
• Create a simple, high-level dashboard or report to visualize translation progress and impact for organizational leadership and the broader community.
• Create training materials to onboard new language support volunteers to ensure understanding and adherence to the new standards and tools.
• Serve as the primary point of contact and liaison between the Dzokden operations team and and the individual language teams, fostering a strong sense of unity and shared purpose.
