The Great Treasury of Definitive Meaning

The third pillar of our vision is to preserve the Jonang Kalachakra lineage—a tradition passed down for over 1,000 years.  The Dzokden Translation Committee, working under the patronage and supervision of Khentrul Rinpoche, is producing a comprehensive 16-volume collection of texts from Tibetan and Indian Buddhist Masters that reveal the profound essence of the perfectly complete Golden Dharma.   These precious texts are rooted in the Zhentong View (“other emptiness”) and the sutras and tantras of definitive meaning that teach all beings already possess a fully enlightened nature.

Our Aspiration and Why this is Important

These precious teachings are crucial to preserving and transmission of this profound spiritual tradition.   Buddha Shakyamuni prophesied that Dolpopa Sherab Gyaltsen (the Omniscient Buddha from Dolpo) would clarify the perfection of the definitive meaning for the benefit of all sentient beings.  Dzokden’s translation of these texts into modern languages will bring forth rich textual tradition that emphasizes the direct realization of the definitive meaning through the cultivation of non-conceptual primordial wisdom.  By relying on these texts without bias, all sentient beings will have the opportunity to remove their personal limitations and to bring forth a Golden Age of peace and harmony.

The Great Middle Way: Clarifying the Jonang View of Other-Emptiness

This widely misunderstood philosophical system emphasizes the clear distinction between the emptiness of conventional reality and the infinite manifestation of ultimate reality, known as Buddha-nature. With this direct and fearless analysis, Rinpoche challenges us to transcend narrow modes of thinking and to discover the limitless potential we each carry within.

Mountain Dharma: The Ocean of Definitive Meaning

One of the most important text in all of Jonang Dharma is Dolpopa Sherab Gylatsen Mountain Dharma commonly known as the Mountain Doctrine. Rime Lodrö (Ives Waldo) translated the book from Tibetan to English to ensure that the Zhentong view is properly translated. This key text is an import work on the Zhentong View. Reading it even once will bring many blessings to you and help you understand this view.
