ABOUT THE PRACTICE RETREAT
People are always chasing the idea of self or getting to know the self but can not recognize the innate true nature that is already present. This practice closes the gap more between who we think we are and who we really are. Our goal is to shift our sense of identity from the illusory self that is projected by ignorance, to a conceptual self that arises from wisdom, therefore bringing us closer to our Buddha-nature.

This retreat is an opportunity to strengthen awareness and cultivate confidence in our own inherent divine nature through the authentic lineage of Tibetan Buddhism of the Jonangpas. There are several skillful means you will have a chance to work with within the different Kalachakra Sadhanas, Kalachakra-Tsok and ordinary activities, in order to unveil the Innate Kalachakra.

For those who have just received the Kalachakra Empowerment and are working on their Ngöndro, this is an ideal opportunity to learn how to put it into practice and to expand enormously the accumulation of merit and wisdom. For those who have been practicing it previously, it is a precious opportunity to realize the power of practicing together with our vajra brothers and sisters.

FOR WHOM IS THIS FOR?
All those who sincerely wish to practice Kalachakra and have received the first set of the Kalachakra Empowerment (Kalachakra Initiation) or the Innate Kalachakra Jenang Initiation from Shar Khentrul Rinpoché, Choekyi Nangwa Rinpoché, HH the Dalai Lama, Jhado Rinpoché or any other Vajra Master of an authentic lineage, regardless of their school of practice.

In order to create the best conditions, it is preferred to have received the first set of the Kalachakra Initiation that are called “The 7 Empowerments of a Growing Child”. However, anyone who has received any other authentic Unsurpassed Yoga Tantra Empowerment and practiced extensively already in their tradition may take part as well. In case of doubt about this important prerequisite, please write to [email protected] before registering.

If you do not have the prerequisite, you are welcome to join here for the Kalachakra Empowerment Rinpoche will give in Mongolia (online participation is possible) before this retreat.

Speakers

  • Khentrul Rinpoche
    Khentrul Rinpoche
    Non-Sectarian Master of Kalachakra

Khentrul Rinpoché Jamphel Lodrö is the founder and spiritual director of Dzokden. Rinpoche is the author of Unveiling Your Sacred Truth, The Great Middle Way: Clarifying the Jonang View of Other-Emptiness, A Happier Life, and The Hidden Treasure of the Profound Path.

Rinpoche spent the first 20 years of his life herding yak and chanting mantras on the plateaus of Tibet. Inspired by the bodhisattvas, he left his family to study in a variety of monasteries under the guidance of over twenty-five masters in all the Tibetan Buddhist traditions. Due to his non-sectarian approach, he earned himself the title of Rimé (unbiased) Master and was identified as the reincarnation of the famous Kalachakra Master Ngawang Chözin Gyatso. While at the core of his teachings is the recognition that there is great value in the diversity of all spiritual traditions found in this world; he focuses on the Jonang-Shambhala tradition. Kalachakra (wheel of time) teachings contain profound methods to harmonize our external environment with the inner world of body and mind, ultimately bringing about the golden age of peace and harmony (dzokden).

  • Rafa Lobsang Dorje
    Rafa Lobsang Dorje

Rafa Lobsang Dorje (Rafael Nassif) started his contact with Buddhism in 2008, after practicing in other systems of spiritual practice in his homeland Brazil. In Europe, India and Tibet he had precious opportunities to receive teachings, transmissions and empowerments from masters from almost all schools of Tibetan Buddhism and from the Theravada Tradition as well, and took part in different group and solitary retreats. He was fortunate to met his precious Guru Jamphel Lodrö (Khentrul Rinpoche) in She Drup Ling-Austria in 2015, from whom he has been receiving a vast and profound wealth of Dharma, since the foundational subjects until the Kalachakra Vajra Yogas. Since 2016 he has been teaching Lu Jong (Tibetan Healing Yoga). In 2018 he received authorisation from Rinpoche to teach the Kalachakra-Ngöndro. Recently he reduced his professional activities as a composer in order to serve the altruistic ideals of his Guru as a full-time volunteer at our Dzokden community. He serves the community a.o. as a translator, editor and coordinator for the translations’ groups for both German and Portuguese languages.
