We invite everyone to participate in the accumulation of 21st Tara Marichi’s Mantra and Rinpoche’s Guru Name mantra for Shar Khentrul Jamphel Lodro Rinpoche’s Birthday. This year we hope to strengthen our connection with Rinpoche so that we may all cultivate the capacity to support him in his Golden Age aspiration. Marichi is Rinpoche’s personal dharma protector as well as the Dharma protectress of Kalapa in Shambhala. We offer her mantras in aspiration that Rinpoche’s global journeys are safe and fruitful for the flourishing of the Dzokden Dharma.
We will recite the mantras lead by different volunteers over a 24 hour period on his birthday. Just login to the zoom to join along.

Accumulate Rinpoché’s Name Mantra – Submit Them Here

This is a paid event and available both Online and In-person.
Amitabha is the most well-known Buddha after Buddha Shakyamuni himself. Some Chinese traditions only focus on Amitabha, and many Tibetans also focus on him because, in the Amitabha sutra, it is said he has taken many vows to help sentient beings easily be reborn in his Pureland of Sukhavati, the Land of Bliss.
Amitabha Pureland is one of the well-known easiest pure lands to get to, although perhaps harder to reach than the Bodhisattva realm of Shambhala. Through this empowerment, one can connect with and work to cultivate unwavering faith and devotion to Amitabha. If one is reborn in his pure land, the path to Buddhahood is natural.
Two of Khentrul Rinpoche’s Lamas, including his root Guru Lama Lobsang Trinlé emphasized Amitabha a lot, especially for non-monastic householder practitioners. Even though Lama Lobsang Trinlé was a Kalachakra master, he spent his whole life practicing and extensively teaching Amitabha to everyone. He eventually bestowed not only his hat but also his precious practice text of Amitabha to Khentrul Rinpoche. It had become warn out because he had used it for so many years. Lama Lutrin instructed Khentrul Rinpoche to teach this practice to Amitabha to many people in the future.
Up until now, Khentrul Rinpoche has focused on sharing his passion for Shambhala and the Golden Age, so he has not had a chance to emphasize Amitaha enough. But now he sees that it is the right time to start emphasizing and sharing these teachings to fulfill his responsibility to his precious teacher.
Many of the people with great faith and devotion feel at peace upon death, They often see Amitabha before they die and feel at peace and secure after they have become dedicated to this practice. A Jonang Lama and a Khandro said that Khentrul Rinpoche’s own mother went to Sukhavati so the practice is very powerful. Khentrul Rinpoche received this empowerment and practice many times from Nyingma Lama, Zhigli Khenpo Tenzin Zangpo and Lama Lobsang Trinley.
Rinpoche will give the empowerment and a practice with it.

In honor of Jetsun Taranatha’s Parinrivana, Khentrul Rinpoche will bestow the oral transmission of the Zhentong Nyingpo. In a previous year he gave a commentary on the text which you can find in Learn.dzokden.org.
Jetsun Taranatha was a renowned Tibetan Buddhist scholar, teacher, and master of the Jonang school. He is considered one of the most important figures in the development of Tibetan Buddhism in the 16th and 17th centuries and is best known for his profound contributions to the teachings of emptiness (shunyata) and the nature of mind based on Dolpopa’s Zhentong emptiness. He was a master who had familiarity with all traditions and could write from their doctrinal point of view perfectly. If he wrote a commentary on a Jonang text it reflected no hint of the Nyngma and vice versa.
While a prolific tantric master who wrote many commentaries, empowerments and Sadhanas, he was also known for his poetry. Khentrul Rinpoche will share some of his Dharma poetry in honor of this day.

Come prepararsi?

This event is available both In-person and Online.
Invited by King Trisong Detson, Guru Rinpoche brought the teachings of Buddha Shakyamuni to Tibet.  Generally referred to as Guru Rinpoche, which means “precious master,“ he dispels all negativity, freeing beings from their troubles and disturbances.
When Guru Rinpoche appeared on earth, he came as a human being. In order to dissolve our attachment to dualistic conceptions and destroy fixations, he exhibited extraordinary manifestations. The Eight Emanations of Guru Rinpoche embody his most beneficial activities and demonstrate the flexibility and illusory nature of appearances.
Who is Guru Rinpoche?
We’re unimaginably lucky to hear from Guru Rinpoche (Padmasambhava), the leader who transformed Tibet into a Buddhist country and is arguably the reincarnation the historical Buddha (Shakyamuni) predicted would be his last reincarnation. More than a millennium ago, Guru Rinpoche made many prophecies scattered in text across many lineages of Tibet. Those were compiled in recent years into a text titled, “An Encouragement to Avert the Hindrances of Dark Times in the Year of the Iron Dog.” (Source: The Saving Each Other Together (SEOT) Project)
Refuge Vow
Until you have taken refuge, you have not committed your spiritual practice to a life direction. And once you take the refuge vow, you are recognizing that you yourself have Buddha nature and can unveil it. To do that, you need the support of a guide, (the Buddha), instructions on how to reveal your nature (the Dharma) and friends on the journey to keep you moving in the right direction (the Sangha). Taking refuge changes your life priorities and firmly plants you moving in the direction towards your Buddha nature. This is the first step as an official Buddhist on the path. While you can take it in your heart which is the most important form, you can also take it with a Buddhist master. It represents turning toward a genuine spiritual path that can be of benefit not only to ourselves but to others as well. Khentrul Rinpoche will offer this vow to those who would like to take it. Since this is the moment you recognize yourself as part of the family of the Buddhas, you are given a new name, a refuge name which has profound meaning based on the qualities of the ultimate truth which you will work to cultivate and reveal in yourself. You can receive one in person or request one online.
Bodhisattva Vow
For those who want to know the truth of their nature, but also want everyone else to know the truth of their nature – there is the Bodhisattva Vow. This is a ceremony to commit to or to validate your choice to help all sentient beings in the 10 directions and 3 times to know their own sacred truth. It’s a commitment to help others awaken no matter what it takes, no matter how long, and no matter when it happens. It is a commitment to be here for their benefit. This is a step to cultivating the heart of love and compassion and the warrior spirit and energy that will stop at nothing to help other people see their truth.
The Bodhisattva Vow can only be taken after you have taken the Refuge Vow. In taking this vow, you move from a path of individual awakening to one of communal awakening commit to love and compassion as your path.
