Dolpopa’s Monlam Commentary — Online Teaching with Shar Khentrul Rinpoché
In English with live translations TBA. There are no prerequisites for attending!
It is with great joy we announce that Rinpoché has accepted our teaching request for a commentary on Dolpopa’s “Aspiration Prayer for the Two Stages of the Vajra Path”. This profound, inspiring, energetic prayer, was spontaneously conceived by Dolpopa as he conversed with his students. Encompassing Dolpopa’s compassionate energy, this prayer is an object of inspiration and devotion for those aspiring to enter and progress on the profound path of the Six Vajra Yogas of Kālachakra. It encapsulates all main aspects of the path, focusing on Bodhicitta and devotion to the Lama and the Yidam, while also referencing various aspects of Dharma teachings particularly relevant for practitioners to remember.
Rinpoché’s root Lama, the precious Lama Lobsang Trinley also wrote a commentary on this aspiration prayer, and we are delighted that Rinpoché will share his insights regarding his writings as well. The translation of Dolpopa’s prayer is available online at our Learning Center in the “Unrestricted Prayers and Texts” section and as a hard copy in our printed practice book “The Profound Path of Vajra Yoga.”
The commentary will be divided into three sessions. You can do later registration and join even if you were not able to attend the first session or the first two sessions.
Rinpoché will bestow it directly from his vajra throne at Dzokden Kalapa in Austria (where he will then guide his students in person in the retreats of the Completion Stage of the Six Vajra Yogas of Kālachakra).

Path Structure and How to Prepare: Am I ready for the Completion Stage practices?
In English with live translations TBA
The Jonang Tradition is the only spiritual tradition that holds an unbroken lineage stream of the complete authentic teachings and pith instructions of the Kālachakra Completion Stage of the Six Vajra Yogas. Rinpoché received the Jonang lineage from his main Root Lama, the great master Ngawang Lobsang Trinley (1917-1999).
After repeated requests from individuals and groups over the last decades, Shar Khentrul Rinpoché has finally accepted to teach all Six Vajra Yogas of Kālachakra for the first time in the West. The Kālachakra Six Vajra Yogas are the most sublime definitive teachings of the Buddha. This is the first time in the world that these practices have been made available in group retreats to non-monastics outside of Tibet, marking an incredible milestone in the history of Buddhism.
Rinpoché will take residence once a year in Dzokden Kalapa in Austria to teach all Vajra Yogas over the coming years. Moreover, Rinpoché has made an effort to clarify the conditions for participation in a way that goes back to the essence and allows practitioners with family and work commitments to fulfill the requirements. Such coming together of conditions is incredibly auspicious, so we want to make this great opportunity known to the global community. This is a precious and incredibly rare opportunity and we are delighted and grateful to be able to offer it.
In the first part of this public talk, the Kālachakra Master Shar Khentrul Rinpoché will concisely explain the process of preparing for the Completion Stage of Kālachakra, the Four Higher Empowerments, and the structure of the Six Vajra Yogas according to Kālachakra (note: this system is not the same as the Six Dharmas of Nāropa or Niguma, which are often mistakenly translated as Six Yogas).
In the second part of the talk, Rafa Lobsang Dorje — coordinator of the Six Vajra Yogas Program — will share practical information about the preparation steps, the application submission process, and the schedule for this and the coming years, followed by the chance to have your questions answered. In this way, you will know how to do a “self-check” to determine whether you are ready to apply soon, or need to spend a longer time preparing.

Weekend Retreat: Cultivating Wisdom
Retreat at a Glance:
– Red Saraswati Empowerment
– White Manjushri Empowerment
– Oral transmission of the practice texts
-Teaching on the Wisdom Chapter of the Way of the Bodhisattva
To become fully realized Buddhas, we must accumulate both Merit and Wisdom. This retreat focuses on connecting with the teachings of Wisdom, which arises not just from knowledge but through awareness. By cultivating wisdom and compassion with an altruistic mindset, we can overcome the darkness in our world and help manifest the Golden Age on Earth.
Wisdom and compassion are like two wings of a bird—both are needed to soar. Through deep personal transformation and dedicated practice, we reduce suffering and become better equipped to help others. Despite the challenges in the world, we can start our path today and embody the peace we wish to see
Khentrul Rinpoche’s connection with Manjushri
Khentrul Jamphel Lodrö Rinpoche is name means Manjushri and was bestowed on him at ordination. The name was his preceptor root guru’s name and it is believed the person receiving this name embodies the qualities of that guru.
White Manjushri – Gentle Methods in Wisdom and Sweet Speech
White Manjushri helps us cultivate wisdom, specifically through gentle methods that help us teach others through our speech.
Red Sarasvati – Intuitive Female Wisdom
Khentrul Rinpoche will bestow the Wang (full empowerment) of the Goddess Red Saraswati who is the consort of Manjushri and the female embodiment of wisdom. The empowerment comes from the Jonang tradition, based on Jetsun Taranatha.
Both Buddhists and non-Buddhists worship her equally. In the vedic tradition, Brahma created the world, and for a long time after, they didn’t have any sounds or sentient beings. Many gods came to him and said, “you made the world, but there are no beings and no sounds.” Then Brahma spilled water from his vase, and there became this incredible sound, this sound is known as the goddess Sarasvati. So that is why she is known as Brahma’s daughter. While the story varies across cultures, the Tibetan tradition features multiple forms of Sarasvati, including a powerful, four-armed tantric version. She is especially worshipped by scholars and spiritual practitioners for her transformative, magnetizing power.
Way of the Bodhisattva – Wisdom Chapter Teaching
PREPARATION TEACHING FOR 2026 YEAR LONG ADVANCED COURSE
In 2026 Khentrul Ripoche will be giving teachings on the 20 Sutras of the Definitive Meaning of Dharma, this is the ultimate wisdom teachings. To help prepare disciples for this, he will bestow the White Manjushri and Red Saraswati Empowerments along with preparatory teachings on Shantideva’s Way of the Bodhisattva Wisdom chapter. The teachings on the Sutras of Definitive Meaning were from high level Bodhisattvas and are deeper even than the wisdom teachings of Shantideva. For this reason it’s encouraged to take this teaching and empowerment in preparation.
